From the beginning of his studies, in his creative work Mateusz Litwa focused on figure, and over years he tried to develop this topic. His interests included the whole figure as well as torso and head. Each year of study was devoted to experiment and search for new solutions. He works hard and results of his work have always been very promising.
The degree piece titled Resurrection is a kind of representation of the idea of figure, deepened year by year. The piece is not only excellent in terms of visual representation, but it also contains a profound, highly dramatic message, leaving the audience breathless. Despite its ascetic form, it is highly sophisticated and its message is very convincing.
I have to mention great technical skills of the author, which combined with sensitivity to form, provide a very interesting, original sculptural proposal. I believe that there is many years long search for new means of expression and artistic development ahead of him, but I am convinced that his great determination and hard work bode well for future artistic life.
